It was a clear yes. 35 chalets are to be built on Hochzeitsberg, ready for occupancy in this year’s wedding season.
It was a quick yes. In the start-up show “2 minutes, 2 million” on Puls 4, the project aroused the greatest interest among Leo Hillinger, and the winemaker and entrepreneur took over 50 percent of the new GmbH to be founded with an investment of 500,000 euros.
And it is a convinced yes. To sustainability and nature at the highest level. HANDLER Bau will manufacture the chalets in solid wood construction.
It is a project that combines sustainable construction with natural materials in an idyllic landscape for a happy occasion. The wood for this comes exclusively from Austria, the manufacturing takes place quasi in the neighborhood. In the production hall of HANDLER Bau in Neutal, Burgenland, the wooden parts are manufactured in modular construction.
„We have been increasingly relying on timber construction for years. Regionality and the use of renewable raw materials play an important role for us“
Michael Schranz, Managing Director of HANDLER Bau GmbHRegionality, sustainability and the connection to nature were just as important to HANDLER as the general contractor as they were to the operators of the Hochzeitsberg Anna Malinovic and Ronni Gollatz.
The flair of the Kellergasse and the vineyards and the view from and to the Hannersberg are thus preserved. No hilltops will be obstructed. “The outdoor area,” says architect Martin Schwartz from Oberwart, “is intended as a flower meadow.”
The chalet village project is the only thing the popular location has been missing: It now also brings the possibilities for overnight stays. Now you can celebrate at Hochzeitsberg until the sun rises and then fall into your own bed. In the trestle spring bed, to be exact.
In addition, completely new possibilities are created both for individual tourists who want to discover the beautiful southern Burgenland and in the business segment.
For all of the apartments, which measure up to 42 square meters, the general contractor HANDLER Bau has provided their own terrace, air conditioning and a photovoltaic system on the roof.
The village is scheduled to be ready from May. The planned opening date is May 19, 2021.
The deadline is realistic. Sustainability and speed are not opposites; both come from a single source here. With the detailed planning of the modules in advance and the high degree of prefabrication, HANDLER can keep the construction phase on site very short.
