Timber modular construction conquers subsidized housing

On behalf of the NÖ Friedenswerk, HANDLER builds the first housing project consisting of 48 wooden modules.

Detailed planning – fast production

Compared to solid construction, timber modular construction requires a different approach. Due to the high prefabrication level, many aspects such as statics, the entire domestic technology, room layout, etc. have to be taken into account right from the start of the planning phase. Once the intense planning process has been completed, the manufacturing of the modules can be done very quickly. The production of the wooden modules is done in Neutal, Burgenland.

Units consisting of 3-5 modules

For the residential building in Hernstein, the housing units were designed to consist of 3-5 modules and thus have a floor space between 64 m² and 99 m². White glazed cross laminated timber walls provide a pleasant and cozy indoor climate in the inside. The apartments are built in solid timber construction, the facade design is partially implemented from a rear-ventilated larch wood facade or plaster facade.
