Successful completion of a sustainable showcase project in Vienna

Sustainability and green building are more topical than ever. HANDLER focuses on future-oriented real estate concepts as well as on construction methods and materials that contribute to a climate-positive future.

We are pleased to have been selected by Palmers Immobilien to build one of Vienna’s showcase projects in the field of large-volume timber housing. In the Viennese Tivoligasse we built 85 apartments with spacious common outdoor areas and a store complex via hybrid construction method.

In the function of the general contractor, we used classic cast-in-place concrete to construct the basements and the first floor of the four building elements. Walls and ceilings of the floors above consist of prefabricated timber elements.

The realization of the larch wood front was carried out by our HANDLER carpentery in Neutal.

Only one and a half years after the start of construction, the project was successfully handed over to the satisfied customer in October of this year. The first renters have already moved into their new homes.

"The relevance of timber as a renewable raw material and sustainable construction methods is higher than ever. In House Engineering makes it possible for us to think about resource-saving construction at a very early stage of the project."

Georg Gager, Division Manager of HANDLER Timber system construction
