Conserving resources, the circular construction cycle and sustainability are essential components of future-proof construction. The role of ESG in the realization of construction projects was explained to interested parties in a seminar on the topic.
The imh-Institute organized a two-day seminar entitled “ESG in der Bauwirtschaft” at the DoubleTree by Hilton Vienna Schönbrunn hotel from 18 – 19 March.
The basic principles and challenges of sustainable construction were highlighted – from aspects such as energy efficiency and choice of materials through to environmentally friendly construction processes and innovative technologies. The participants had the opportunity to see and discuss best practice examples. Other agenda topics included Cradle2Cradle, taxonomy and sustainability law.
Dieter Hofer spoke on behalf of HANDLER about the challenges in this field. He is Head of Research and Development Projects with a focus on sustainable construction at HANDLER.
He presented various levers to the participants using a workbench for sustainable construction and the tools it contains. The importance of communication and process management, labor productivity and complexity based on supply chain regulations as well as deadline and cost pressure in projects were also discussed.
Two successful days with valuable input and suggestions to promote awareness in the industry.
