Our contribution to the Ö3 Weihnachtswunder in Wiener Neustadt

The Ö3 Christmas Miracle, which is hosted in Wiener Neustadt from December 19 to 24, 2024, is a fundraising campaign for the charity Licht ins Dunkel. In addition to the usual deal where you make a donation for a music wish, there are also individual fundraising campaigns. The initiative “Tu was” makes many large and small contributions from all over Austria visible. Together with project partners, HANDLER has decided to donate the Niederösterreichische Baupreis received in October 2024 for the projekt Wohnquartier Mühlbach Ost in St. Pölten to the Ö3 Weihnachtswunder.

Within three years, a large-volume residential building with 324 units was realized on behalf of the non-profit developer Alpenland and WET Wohnbaugruppe as partial general contractor. In October 2024, this unique project was awarded the Niederösterreichische Baupreis 2024 and took 3rd place. The prize money of EUR 4,500, which was originally awarded to the winners, was increased to EUR 10,000 by the companies involved and architect Sascha Bradic.

On December 20th, Handler and the project partners gathered in front of the Ö3 Wunschhütte for the handover. Tom Walek, who was part of the Ö3 Christmas Miracle team for the first time, welcomed the participants, including their wish hit “You’ve Got The Love” by Florence + The Machine. The donations were forwarded to the charity Licht ins Dunkel to support families in need in Austria.
